Science: We are finishing the  unit on Heredity, Creation/Evolution, and Classification. We are studying God the Creator and how we can group or organize species.
 
5/14     Monday           We are starting Classification of organisms, Chapter 10. Tonight write out the definitions for the terms p.228 left side with complete sentences.
 
 
5/15     Tuesday           Tonight write out the definitions for the terms p.228 right side with complete sentences.
 
5/16     Wednesday     Write answers to Review Questions p.233. 
 
5/17     Thursday         Review the kingdoms & levels of classification.

Science: We have just started a unit on Heredity, Creation/Evolution, and Classification. We are studying God the Creator compared to the evidence of evolution so that we may share the truth with our friends who only know evolution.
 
5/7       Monday           We will prepare for a Test on Creation reasons and vocabulary throughout the week. Study for the Test, which is on Thursday May 10. Write out 5 reasons by memory and show them to your parents.
 
 
5/8       Tuesday           Review the vocabulary words and the “Reasons to believe”to parents. I would suggest note cards to review with.
 
5/9       Wednesday      Review the “Reasons to believe” and vocabulary. Packet should be complete. Test tomorrow
 
5/10     Thursday          No Homework for tonight, study for the Geography test.
 
5/11     Friday              Extra Credit opportunity is to write a paragraph  or draw a cartoon on what we have learned about creationism and evolution. 20 points available for this assignment.

4/30     Monday           We will prepare for a quiz on section one of the packet. Study for the quiz is tomorrow, and then on to

section two which deals with dating methods and other misleading assumptions.

5/2       Wednesday      Review the reasons to believe with your parents.

4/23     Monday           We will finally look at our packet, looking for truth and not being taken captive by an empty philosophy.  Homework is look at the following website

This is a great website made by some high school boys and it really shows the greatness of God. Find the following: 1. the picture of glucose and then write 4 items that appear in the same size as glucose. 2. Find the total human height and write it down. Find the Blinking Nebula, Milky way and finally 3. Write down the size of the universe. God is the great Creator. Give Him praise!!
 
4/24     Tuesday           Homework is to shorten the reason to believe number 4 which I will give to the students in class. So far we have two reasons from me and to reasons from the movie on Friday. We will have a movie make up day on Wednesday (bring your lunch and popcorn to my room.)

For homework they are to shorten down and use some words that would fit their writing style from the reasons given in class.  They should keep the notes given in class and have a 2nd copy that is shortened down with their words. All students are to have two copies of each reason to believe.

Science: We have just started a unit on Heredity, Creation/Evolution, and Classification. We are studying God the Creator and will include how long each creation day is. We will add to our list of verses that show God is the creator and what he has made.
 
4/16     Monday           We will correct the Chapter 7 review and the blue review sheet we started in class on Thursday. Then we will add to our knowledge where God is seen as the Creator from scripture. Homework is to add 3 more verses that speak about God as the creator. Keep adding to the list of verses it may become Extra Credit in the future.
 
4/17     Tuesday           Homework is to write a paragraph on what you would say to someone who is uncertain about how the earth came into existence.
 
4/18     Wednesday      Terms p.176 is to be defined in complete sentences.
 

4/19     Thursday          Students will be given “reasons to believe” in creation from notes in class. Science: We have just started a unit on Heredity, Creation/Evolution, and Classification. We are studying DNA and how traits are made from proteins that are built on the ribosomes within our cells. This is a complicated process so it would be good if your student read the chapter out loud to you and took some notes. We will finish this topic of how we get the traits we have from the genes we received  by Friday The tool the students are using is the punnett square created by Reginald Punnett as well as the pedigree and recombinant DNA this week.
 
4/9       Monday           We will be using the punnett square with no recessive traits this week. Discuss with parents incomplete dominance then get Chapter 6 test signed.
Heads up: Quiz on section one and two Chapter 7, Friday
 
4/10     Tuesday           Homework is to read and then define the terms on page 165.  Have students read this section before the terms are completed will help in their understanding.
4/11     Wednesday       Complete Directed reading section 3 chapter 7 for homework which will help you on the Test this Friday.
            “Directed Reading, Section Two” is a worksheet type of assignment with questions and page numbers where the answers can be found. There are a number of questions for each section in each chapter. The students keep their Directed Readings for each chapter until all the sections are complete and then I record a total grade for all sections. I allow the students to keep these to study for the test at the end of a chapter. Today the students are to do the Directed Reading, section 3, chapter 7.  I will be taking a grade on all three sections if time permits.
4/12     Thursday          Study notes and reread sections for Test
 
4/13     Friday              Test 7 day – Assessment day. Go over the steps in making a copy of DNA. Review notes on M-RNA, amino acids, and proteins. There are 8 steps needed to be memorized in copying DNA. Be able to use the punnett square to help on a pedigree. Homework is to find and write 3 verses that would indicate God is the Creator.
