1.  Define an interest group.  List the different types of interest groups and give an example of each type.

Tuesday, April 10:  Read p. 600 – 611
1.  Identify several strategies and tactics used by organized interests.  Then choose one interest group (your pick) and demonstrate how they would specifically use those strategies and tactics to get their interests heard.
2.  How do lobbyists seek to influence the different branches of government?

1.  What are some of the components of the Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995?
2.  If you were the head of an interest group, what steps would you take to ensure your groups success?

Monday, April 16:  1.  Create your own interest group.  Choose your cause.  Outline the principles your group embraces.  Specify three areas that you would like Congress to pass legislation to benefit your group and write recommendations for each area as to possible legislation.  Make it pretty and it may make the board.
