New to Woodcrest Christian for the 2011-2012 school year, I am not new to teaching. My most recent assignment was at Lake Havasu High School in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, a large public school with a population of about 2000 students. There I taught Algebra and Consumer Math and was the lead teacher for the Algbebra department of 14 teachers. Interestingly, the colors of LHHS are also PURPLE and GOLD. Prior to that I taught for a number of years at Ontario Christian School. I taught Junior High Bible for several years, then Language Arts and then Math. With Speech/Drama as my minor, I was always involved with speech competitions and directing plays. I also did some acting in Community Theatre with the local Kiwanis group. My husband and I lived all our married life in the Alta Loma, Chino and Chino Hills area until our move to Lake Havasu City in 2004. We have one son, Benjamin, who lives in Riverside. How God Brought me to Woodcrest Christian At the beginning of last school year, my dear husband, Lyle, died very suddenly. I needed to move back to Southern California to be near family and long time friends. There were three choices of where I could move; Artesia, where my elderly Mother lives, Chino, where my long time friends live, or Riverside, where my son lives. I prayed to God that he would provide a teaching job for me in the place that He wanted me to start my new life. God opened the job for me at Woodcrest Christian, which is only 8 miles from where my son lives. So, God brought me here and I am very thankful for His care and direction. |
