Hi,
I am Mrs. Armstrong and have been teaching math at WCS for 23 years. I earned a B. A. in mathematics from David Lipscomb University (a private Christian school) in Nashville, TN, and an M. A. in mathematics and education from Ohio University in Athens, OH.

I grew up in a Christian home, my dad was a pastor. Though I was baptized when I was 11, I would have to say my understanding of Christianity was limited to a 'works' based relationship - I felt I had to measure up or try to be good enough. Later in college, after I was introduced to the writings of C. S. Lewis, I understood more completely the concept of God's grace. No one can  ever be good enough. How truly amazing is God's grace expressed through Jesus. I was re-baptized and continue to grow in the grace and truth of Jesus.

I have a wonderful, kind, loving, sharp, witty, wise husband whom I met in college. He is a retired pastor and we have now been married 41 years! He continues to preach, teach, counsel, and mentor as the Lord leads.  We have three great children, Michele, John (who is married to Rachel) and Lorene - all graduates of WCS - and a wonderful grandson born  January 11, 2011!

I am grateful for the opportunity to teach mathematics at WCS and thereby use the gifts God has given me. My favorite quote: Mathematics is the alphabet with which God has written the universe. Galileo
