AKA: The Zookeeper
The Zookeeper was a title bestowed on me by Dustin Riley and company in my art class many years ago.  It just stuck.  I really don't keep zoo animals, but sometimes I wonder??  Just kidding.  I graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a degree in History.  From that point, I went to graduate school there where I obtained my teaching credential in Social Studies.  "Why Social Studies?" you might think, but it is so interesting to me to see the play of history and how God has orchestrated things.  Sometimes, when you take the time to trace it all, it really is a mind-blower when you consider His faithfulness.  Wow!  He truly is an awesome God who speaks to us through His-story (ok, corny, old line, but it really is so true).  You might also wonder how a Social Studies teacher used to teach art?  That is because it is a passion.  I love drawing, painting, the attempt to capture what's in the mind's eye and translating that on to a canvas or paper.  God is a creative God and we created in His image are given the privilege to appreciate that creative process through art, so yeah, art!

Basic bio stuff?  I'm married, for almost 23 years now.  Some remember me as Miss Pyles from the old days.  I've got 2 kiddos, both girls.  Tracy is 19 and is at RCC until she transfers in the fall to hopefully CBU or APU.  Rachel is 14, almost 15 and is here at WCS as a freshmen.  I've also got 2 dogs, boxers.  Hey, boxers are great dogs, if you're considering a good family dog.  Jasmine and Roxie will lick you to death and bounce you when the fam's around; but it's a different story when we're not.  Other things I enjoy?  Camping - both RV and tent (just w/ a good air mattress, please), Reading, Cooking - I love to experiment, Bible study - you just dry up w/o it, Music - you'd be surprised as to my preferences, ask!

My vision for my students?  To see each of them become the person God has created them to be.  Kiddos, one thing you gotta know:  God has uniquely created you for some purpose that only you can do.  He doesn't use cookie cutters, nor does He make mistakes.  You are just the way you are because God needed you to be that way.  Your goal is to discover that purpose and fly into it full-force.  God loves you as His beloved and can't wait to spend eternity with you.  You gotta know this and embrace this.  When you stop fighting this idea, things will become so much better for you and you'll be surprised at what God can do!

Blessings to each of you!
